External evaluation of Indiana’s 2-1-1 system in 2004 and 2005 documented need for additional training for I&R Specialists and Resource Specialists. The evaluation also identified barriers to participation in available training opportunities. Barriers included cost of training, cost of time for travel and time away from service delivery, staffing of phone room, inability to include all staff in training, etc. As a result, IN211 has been testing models for online training.
Indiana 211 Partnership (IN211) seeks to provide quality, on-demand training opportunities for all staff and volunteers within Indiana’s 2-1-1 system in order to improve service for people in need. IN211 is seeking funding to implement a full training program.
